Vital to RMIT’s biannual solar car challenge is the design of a vehicle carrier or trailer. More importantly, one that is also a mobile base camp, communal shelter, workshop and kitchen facility.
My passion for a design practice based on in-depth research, is at the core of this project. Therefore, it draws from the team’s experience, industry experts and digging into digital archives aimed at targeting the specific needs of the race team.
The design aims to increase the efficiency of the RMIT Australian Technology Network Solar Team who compete in The World Solar Challenge and help keep them running like clockwork.
The result is a vital aid in managing unnecessary stress levels during an exhausting race where rest is hard to come by, and of course, a trailer in which to carry both their racing hopes and needs.
