The project intends to develop another daily tool into a toy that related to our environment and nature. It forms as a household and interactive lighting toy for children to play and learn their perception of aesthetics, and sensory experience, which is educational and meaningful for children. It can be perceived that children produce their drama of the music. Children are gifted because they have broad space to play and discover. They had much time to interact with their surroundings and people, which is natural and educational. In the process of engagement, it drives children to learn and relax from play; it also encourages them to generate their creations. Interactive design acts like a conversation activity that allows people and objects to talk with each other.
My journey began with the question framed around the children’s play with light and shadow. It has taken me to the phenomenon of “Cymatics”: The movement of water caused by vibration. The vibration became sound that can be observed through light projection and as performance play by children. This resulted in a series of experiments with the play of light, sound and water, aimed at engaging children. The resulting iteration is a personal cymatic light object. However there is further potential as a public installation.
