Sustainable phone cable logistical packaging in the e-commerce industry

Ridiculous amounts of waste are generated by the logistical packaging over-used in the e-commerce industry. To guaranteeing the products arrive at the destination in an undamaged condition, the online retailers enhance the protectiveness of logistical packaging by consuming lots of secondary and tertiary packaging, like foam and bubble wrap. This irresponsible practice leads to the problem of material and energy waste in the manufacturing and transportation processes. Meanwhile, due to the complexity of packaging material, it discourages the consumer to disassemble and recycle it. A sustainable logistical packaging is designed in this project to cope with this issue.

To work out the greatest positive impact on the environment, the packaging design is focusing on the product of phone cables, one of the most popular purchased item online. The packaging box is made of recycled pulp paper, it avoids using up new resources. It demonstrates an ideal performance in logistics procedures, including protecting the phone cable and carrying the parcel information, with the high protectiveness and recyclable design. Also, the recyclable material can simply dispose of in recycle bin without disassembling, it makes the disposal management more achievable.
