My honours design project is focused around ‘How to let people have a more flexible area in small space’.
In my home country – China, most of the families are living in very small apartments, and as a product of this often people don’t get the essential quality of life due to these constraints. Within my project research, this issue of minimised space has shown itself not only to be a problem within China but it is also a global issue.
MOCE is my honours design project, consisting of four steel tube screens, a folding bed and folding table are incorporated into this frame alongside pegboards to increase the storage space for my target users.
This design project was initially created to solve a series of problems caused by people living in small living quarters with minimal storage space with unitary furniture function, complicated assembly causing pain not convenience. I hope this design can change users experiences within small living spaces.
While living spaces are continuing to reduce in size, through reasonable planning, I can still help people improve their quality of life.
