This project aims to reduce anxiety amongst commuters and encourage more people to use public transport by providing entertainment interactions for commuters at train stations. Waiting is a major factor affecting people’s satisfaction with commuting and long commute waits can result in more people choosing private cars over public transportation. Existing public transportation system interactions only display basic information for ease of use.
This project proposes an interactive device based around existing Ad shells found at train stations. It uses camera based sensors to capture the commuters’ image and allows commuters to participate in a screen based game. Engaging interactive content encourages commuters to interact with themselves or other commuters through the screen. The project aims to change attitudes toward waiting and reduce commuter anxiety.
