It is one a clock in the morning. I can not fall asleep yet. The pace of work makes me so stressed. I take out “In-Sense” hoping to relax. I lay out a bronze bowl, a wooden rod, and incense powder on a table. The singing of the bronze bowl, and the fragrance of incense, together help me to relax. “In-Sense” explores a way to ritualize the method of relaxing our mind through the smelling of incense.

The modern lifestyle causes us psychological issues and stress for both children’s and adults. According to the psychological study, the smell of incense burning helps our brain to relax. Based on this, would utilize the process of burning incense help us to be calm, relaxed and less stressed?
Through experimenting with sound and smell while preparing and burning incense, “In-Sense” project explores the connection between our sensorial body and mind.
