Hidden Surfaces in the Home
Humans are naturally curious and those curiosities often push us to delve deeper into situations, ideas, and even physical spaces and objects in an effort to deepen our understanding of what it is we are experiencing before us. The research this project will undertake examines the role of functional cognition and the human brain in the context of furniture and object design.
Focus has been directed to the use of hidden narrative and multiple layers of meaning within various objects, spaces, ideas and projects past. Use of these themes has existed across the millennia and meaning is shifted from person to person processing the information. People have their own contexts and their own bias and- circularly more narrative is created and different people come into contact with these themes.
