I aim to design an unmanned aerial vehicle that can support an established medical service that provides medical supplies and treatment to remote, rural and regional locations. The purpose of the vehicle would be to supplement existing flying services by transporting medical supplies from bases to pre-existing clinics.

By designing an unmanned and automated, aerial vehicle it would allow the transportation of medicine and supplies alone to be undertaken with very little human assistance. Meaning, when there is a medical emergency that requires pilots and doctors, planes and personnel are free and available to attend to the more critical situation.

To design such a vehicle, there will be a heavy focus on emerging and future technologies that will allow massive weight reductions, increased range and heavier payloads. As well as focusing on materials and technologies; aerodynamic properties and established, as well as experimental, flying techniques and designs will be heavily researched.

Through research, experimentation and making I hope to propose a new way of transporting medical goods, that can greatly help existing medical services in their quest for comprehensive medical treatment of remote, rural and regional areas.

The scope of this project is based within the next 5 years, this allows the exploration and use or emerging technologies.
