Melbourne is recognised as one of the most livable cities in the world. An important element to support this title is the quality and usage of public spaces, during the next few decades we expect an increase of 40% of pedestrian traffic.
Within the context of increased population, I aim to make use of public place and without interfering with the pedestrian flow to increase people’s activities while walking in the city.
My project seeks to implement and promote the importance of exercise by offering a series of activity stations, encourage people to exercise without letting them know they are doing it. The activity stations are designed to engage people during ‘down’ time around the pedestrian traffic light poles.
