Evoke is a multi-sensory stimulation lighting speaker, designed specifically for people suffering from dementia. Evoke offers a sensory stimulation strategy: It rekindles and evokes past childhood memories through tactile, auditory and visual techniques.
By touching the textured tactile panels, the user can play freely with natural sounds and lights such as rain, leaves, and beaches, to ease stress, feel more relaxed and engage in conversation. Evoke takes its form through selective design elements from specific era orientated objects to create a sentimental attachment with patients.

Evoke can be used in either the patient’s room as a personal object or in public areas to facilitate group activities. The project is an attempt to alter the experience of a medical device and transform the serious treatment into a non-pharmaceutical aesthetic device. These methods create an experience that can improve behavioural issues in patients, which is beneficial for promoting a better quality of life. It also demonstrates how people could interact with lights in different physical and experimental ways.
