BARK, Behavioural Animal Rescue Kit
This project that aims to design a ‘Rescue Kit’ for abandoned, lost or runaway dogs in recovery and temporary homes. Animals in shelters have specific needs that maybe too varied and complex to be met continually. These circumstances can often lead to anxiety and/depression which is manifested through aggression, or presents as unusual behavior. Whilst a lot of abandoned dogs’ anxieties can be reduced through the comfort of human contact, and affection, this is often not possible to provide in an extended manner in most shelters. The Behavioral Animal Rescue Kit (BARK) has been designed to provide a range of temporary solutions to canine anxiety. The kit has been developed to be used in kennels, vets and or even in domestic situations. Furthermore BARK is a program which will allow the community a chance to “sponsor” a dog, by purchasing the Kit for new arrivals that come to the shelter.
